TWR Asia Golf Challenge 2023
JAPAN-THEMED EDITION OF THE ANNUAL TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS
Organised by Christian media ministry, Trans World Radio Asia, the TWR Asia Golf Challenge 2023 was held in September at the Orchid Country Club (Dendro & Aranda Courses) with the theme, Japan. The day’s program included novelty games, prize draws, goody bags distribution, and a buffet lunch served at the Golfers’ Terrace where participants had ample time for fellowship and catch-ups with their golfing kakis.
Rev. Dr. Gordon Wong, Bishop of the Methodist Church in Singapore, graced the event as theb guest-of-honour and led the pre-game prayer. The golfers lined up at the buggy bay for a group photo before moving out to their respective holes for the shotgun start. The skies were clear and the weather was sunny – temperatures were estimated to be in the range of 35°C – with an occasional breeze.
Although nobody managed to score a hole-in-one and return home with the prize, many tried their best for the One-On-The-Green novelty event to win some great prizes in a special draw. After freshening up, the golfers enjoyed a sumptuous sit-down Chinese dinner at the Emerald Suite. Mr Eugene Lim, Chairman of the Organising Committee, and Mr Hirotaka Sasaki, CEO of TWR Japan, thanked everyone for their generous support.
Golfers were given personalised copies of Golf Asia magazine, sponsored by Media Group, along with a complimentary subscription to the magazine. These have been a perennial favourite among the event participants. The night was rounded off by a lively auction, and finally, the blessing draw with many golfers taking home many lovely prizes. As the event drew to a close, the emcees thanked the golfers and dinner guests for making a success of the 11th TWR Asia Golf Challenge.
