Porsche 911 Carerra

More powerful, faster, and digital, the Porsche 911 stays committed to the Porsche design DNA. With a much more muscular look and an interior featuring a 10.9-inch touchscreen monitor, the new 911 is timeless and also modern. Intelligent control and chassis elements as well as innovative assistance systems combine the uncompromising dynamism that the classic rear-engine sports car is famed for, with the demands of the digital world.

The next generation of flat-six turbocharged engines are more powerful than ever before, with 331 kW (450 hp) in the S models, mated to a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The top speeds are now 308 km/h for the Carrera S, and 306 km/h for the Carrera 4S. Both 911 models beat the four-second mark from zero to 100 km/h – the rear-wheel-drive Coupé needs 3.7 seconds and the 911 Carrera 4S with all-wheel drive just 3.6 seconds.

The exterior design draws on earlier generations of the 911, familiar and yet new. Wider wings arch over the front 20-inch wheels and 21-inch wheels at the rear. The front end revives a feature of earlier 911 generations – a forward extended bonnet with a distinctive recess in front of the windscreen, lengthening the front for a dynamic look. The rear is dominated by the wider, variable-position spoiler and the seamless light bar.

The interior features clear, straight lines and recessed instruments. Inspired by the 1970s, the new dashboard spans the entire width, and a control panel of five buttons is styled to look like classic toggle switches. The seats are also revamped – lighter, lower, and with better lateral support in the shoulder area, seating comfort has been improved.

Sophisticated assistance systems enhance safety and comfort. Porsche’s Wet Mode detects wet roads and preconditions the control systems, warning the driver to set the car up to focus on safety with a push of a button, or via the mode switch on the steering wheel.

The warning and brake assist system, detects the risk of collisions, and initiates a warning or emergency braking if necessary. Optional adaptive cruise control comprises automatic distance control with a stop-and-go function and reversible occupant protection.

The next generation of bi-turbocharged six-cylinder flat engines further enhance performance. Larger turbochargers, a redesigned charge air cooling system, and piezo injectors combine for improvements in responsiveness, power, torque characteristic, endurance, and revving ability. With performance enhancement by 22 kW (30 hp), achieving 331 kW (450 hp) at 6,500 rpm, the 911 Carrera S engine develops 530 Nm of torque in total.

Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG remarked, “The eighth generation of the 911 is even more powerful, even more emotional, and even more efficient than its predecessor – and also offers extensive digital features. And in spite of all the innovations, the 911 is still just what it has always been: a puristic sports car and the pulsing heart of Porsche – our icon.”
