Callaway’s new Apex iron ranges offer something for everyone.
The Callaway Apex range of irons have been known to marry good looks with forgiveness. The
new clubs aim to continue this reputation while offering three variants that should meet every kind of golfer.
Callaway Apex Ai200 Irons
The Callaway Apex Ai200 and Apex Ai300 are designed for pure feel, power, and consistency. These elegant cavity-back designs feature a slightly larger profile that blends performance and forgiveness in Callaway’s “most complete game- improvement iron”.
The forged cavity-back combines with a forged 455 face to create a Tour-level sound and feel. In addition to enhanced feel, the Forged 455 Face Cup delivers power across the face. The Apex Ai300 achieves consistency through the Ai Smart Face. Using real golfer swing data combined with artificial intelligence, the Ai Smart Face generates outstanding speed and spin consistency with tight dispersion into greens.
Callaway Apex Ai300 Irons
Strategically positioned MIM weighting ensures the optimal centre of gravity, and the Dynamic Sole Design ensures enhanced turf interaction to provide more forgiveness through the turf.
In comparison, the Apex Ai300 are slightly larger in size than the Apex Ai200, and have more offset for added forgiveness. The lower and deeper CG of the Ai300 also helps golfers launch the ball higher. As such, lofts are one degree stronger throughout the set than the Ai200. The Ai300 soles are also a little wider for easier turf interaction.
Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Irons
The Callaway Apex Ti Fusion Irons offer something a little different compared to the Ai300 and Ai200. The brazed titanium construction of the Apex Ti Fusion capitalises on the power of a titanium clubface combined with the forged feel of steel, while providing enhanced ball speed characteristics. The titanium clubface, similar to driver faces, further increases efficiency in power transfer, and produces a larger sweet spot in an iron than steel.
Advanced materials in the Callaway Apex Ti Fusion irons help the clubs achieve better feel. The titanium face allows for more detection and interaction with our patented urethane microspheres. This interaction coupled with a forged, steel body provides a unique feel that is typically only found in single-piece forged irons. Furthermore, the Ai Smart Face yields high ball speed, spin and tighter dispersion, resulting in performance of a two-piece iron with the “consistency like a muscleback”.
Performance aside, the Apex Ti Fusion irons are beautifully finished in a new, ultra-premium Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) that not only looks great, but is more durable than PVD while producing a striking aesthetic.
