SWING FOR A GOOD CAUSE S3
The inaugural Swing for S3 raises funds towards recovery from stroke.
Over 130 golfers teed off at the Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong Course in August in S3’s first fundraiser event. The inaugural Swing for S3 held the event to raise funds and awareness towards stroke prevention, recovery, support, and reintegration.
Together with special guest, former Singapore golf professional Mr Lam Chih Bing, the players got to play on Singapore’s top- ranked course, and received a special goodie bag with items sponsored by Crystal Tomato, Golf Asia, TaylorMade Golf, Wing Tai Holdings Limited. They also challenged themselves in the various novelty games prepared across the course, where exciting prizes awaited winners. Players also enjoyed the game with stunning views and an assortment of refreshments on the Serapong to beat the heat, including ice cream and satay.
Guest-of-Honour Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, graced the dinner, alongside Chairman of S3, Ms Chang Hwee Nee. Mr Gan had inaugurated S3’s first Wellness Centre at Enabling Village in 2016.
A highlight of the night included the unveiling of the S3@Enabling Village’s new centre signage that officially recognises us as a Centre for Stroke Recovery, reflecting our expanded suite of services dedicated to supporting the stroke community. As a token of appreciation, stroke survivor and S3 employee Mr Patrick Chiam presented Mr Gan with a handcrafted wallet that symbolised S3’s gratitude for Mr Gan’s support and commitment.
Key sponsors for the event include Singhaiyi Group (Platinum), Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (Gold), and UBS Singapore, and Melanie and Tony Chew (Silver).
Stroke Support Station (S3) is the first and only stroke-focused community rehabilitation and wellness agency dedicated to meeting the needs of post-stroke survivors and their caregivers across Singapore.
