SingHealth Duke-NUS Charity Golf

08 Dec 2016

SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC) held its biennially signature fundraising Charity Golf event in support of medical research and education on 14th October at the Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore with Mr Wong Kan Seng, Chairman of Ascendas-Singbridge, as Guest of Honour. Together with their generous partners, the SingHealth Duke-NUS Charity Golf 2016 managed to raise close to S$400,000 for six Academic Clinical Programmes in the disciplines of cancer, eye, heart, musculoskeletal sciences, pathology and oral health. These much needed funds help to accelerate better treatments and cures through medical research as well as impart new knowledge to younger generations of healthcare professionals. Held for the fifth time this year, this Charity Golf event has raised a total of close to $2 million so far.
The healthcare landscape today faces many new challenges – a rapidly ageing population, evolving disease patterns and the increased prevalence of chronic diseases. To advance medicine, there must be a tenacious focus on constant research and education. Research helps drive clinical excellence and enables the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC to hasten the search for better outcomes and treatments especially for disease patterns that affect the local community here differently from the rest of the world. With each stride of progress, each succeeding generation of doctors gains new wisdom and continues to pave the way forward for the next generation of medical professionals. This focus on medical research and education are the impetus to improving the lives of patients. SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC would like to thank the following partners who have made the event a huge success, Goldheart (a supporter since 2012), Club21 (a supporter since 2012), Lalique, Art Workz, deLaCour, The Mulia Bali, Mercedes Benz, CH Carolina Herrera, Calla Spa, Vittel, Sportade, Perrier, pH Balancer Ocean Alkaline Ion Water, Cornerstone Wines, Innogolf Group, MST Golf, Natural Healings, kimrobinson, Cathay Pacific Airways and Singapore Airlines.
