ADIDAS GOLF DAY 2024

28 Oct 2024

The adidas Golf Day is all about having a good time in a sustainable way.

After a two-year break, the adidas Golf Day returned to Singapore with a bang. And seeing how quickly the slots were snapped up, it didn’t come a day too soon. All spots to play at the Serapong Course of Sentosa Golf Club sold out Just two days after the sign-up opened.

Each golfer got a CodeChaos Glove, adidas tote bag, a sleeve of golf balls, an adidas small shoe keychain, golf tees from BravoGolf, adidas umbrella and cap, all in their personalised lockers at Sentosa Golf Club.

Posing in style at the poster wall

During registration, golfers could try the new CodeChaos shoe. And if they bought a pair on event day – or wore one during the event – they stood a chance to win a limited edition CodeChaos Golf Bag worth $525.

BMW had an activation during registration as well. Golfers could play their plinko board game and stand a chance to win either a sleeve of golf balls, a BMW pack, and the opportunity to win a three- day/two-night BMW i5 Touring Experience. Mr Francis Tan was the ultimate lucky winner of that unique experience.

The 144 golfers who attended and played were met with perfect weather. And even if not, they would have been appeased by the availability of ice cold Carlsberg Smooth Draft at the halfway house.

No one could complain about getting hungry as live stations of tako yaki, coney dogs with rendang sauce and onions, and, of course, your local traditional ice cream served in a cup, cone, wafer biscuit or bread were readily available for the golfers to refresh and fuel themselves throughout the day.

Numerous fun activities entertained golfers during the game. As adidas is all about sustainability, for each activity accomplished, the golfers could earn a carbon credit. The key is to participate in all on- course activities to earn carbon credits, which actually translates to supporting activities that protect and restore the environment.

Putting their best feet forward

At the end of the day, the three golfers with the most carbon credits earned took home great prizes. Ms Carina Wong was the second runner-up, and Mr Lim Hui Jun was first runner-up – both winning a flight of complimentary vouchers at Sentosa Golf Club, sponsored by Sentosa Golf Club, and a GolfBuddy W12 GPS watch sponsored by Leonian Singapore. Winner Mr Wee Wei Sheng won a flight of complimentary vouchers from Sentosa Golf Club, and a Luminox Eco Watch made of recycled material sponsored by Luminox.

At hole 2, it was the Code Chaos Puzzle hole where golfers has to match the picture of the code chaos that depicted the special feature description on the board. Golfers who solved the puzzled got a adidas sustainable water bottle.

Striking a creative pose next to the Codechaos cutout was one of the novelty games

Hole 4 had the adidas photo wall where golfers got extremely creative with their poses against a cutout of the Codechaos shoe. In addition, the best dressed flight (Flight 17A) won an adidas golf bag and duffle bag each, and a flight of green fee vouchers at Sentosa Golf Club. The best dressed golfer – Mr Kelvin Lim – won a adidas golf bag and tote bag too.

Hole 8 was a Nearest To Pin challenge where the winner, Mr Colin Ng, walked away with a flight of green fee vouchers at Sentosa Golf Club. Hole 10 was called “Love for Adidas”. This hole is where golfers could really show how much they love adidas by the number of items they had that were from adidas. Those who had more than five adidas items, won an adidas shoe sack.

The Chaos Fairway was at hole 12 where golfers who landed their tee shots on the “Chaos Fairway” earned themselves one carbon credit. At hole 17, Inclusivity in Golf, golfers got to try out Taylormade’s Hi-Toe 4 wedge to earn a carbon credit.

Community Chest was a charity partner as this event. Golfers were encouraged to donate to Community Chest, the event’s charity partner. Donations earned a carbon credit at the event as well. For those who landed on the green using the HT4 wedges, had a chance to win a set of Hi-Toe 4 Wedges sponsored by MST Golf.

The after-golf party at Sentosa’s Pavilion

The party continued after the golf with a barbeque dinner held at Sentosa Golf Club’s Pavilion. And the chance to win prizes continued. Sustainable water bottles and an electric Fan sponsored by Mitsubishi electric were won at the LED chipping game with lighted golf balls hit from LED bays onto the 18th green.

Dinner games like hitting lit balls to the 18th green entertained the guests.

The “End Plastic Waste” game saw golfers trying to fish as many bottles out of the “ocean” as possible within 60 seconds. Mr Ke Yam Cheong, won by fishing out nine plastic bottles out within a minute and walked away a Sennheiser CX6.00 Wireless Earphones by Sennheiser and Wellness gift set by Ki.

The evening culminated in a climax with performances by stilt walkers and a fashion show parading latest apparel from adidas.
