As the 2025 KLPGA Tour season begins, there’s one rookie that stands out – Jaravee Boonchant (25, Hana Financial Group), a member of the International Tour (I-TOUR) from Thailand. With great anticipation surrounding rookie players, she is ready to take on a new challenge and make her mark on the KLPGA Tour this year.

A Stage in Korea That Makes It Possible to Enjoy Tour Life
Jaravee Boonchant, born in Bangkok, Thailand, moved to the U.S. at age 15 on a full scholarship to Duke
University. During her time there, she helped lead her team to victory in the NCAA Championship team event.
In 2022, she also claimed a win on the LPGA Epson Tour, earning recognition as one of Thailand's rising stars.
Despite all these achievements, Boonchant's focus turned to Korea. Since 2021, she has participated in the Hana Financial Group Championship – an event hosted by her main sponsor – allowing her to gain valuable experience and adjust to the Korean golf scene. “Korea is such an exciting place to play. The fans come out to cheer for their favorite players, and the energy is even higher on weekends with bigger crowds,” she said. “I also really enjoy Korean food, K-pop, and K- dramas. I’ve become a big fan of Korean culture.”
Boonchant’s efforts on the KLPGA Tour are already starting to show positive results. In 2024, she finished tied for 8th at the Hana Financial Group Singapore Women’s Open and took 2nd place at the KLPGA 2024 International Qualifying Tournament (IQT). These performances earned her a spot as an I TOUR member, officially joining the KLPGA in December 2024.
Her time in Korea has also taught her important lessons. “Playing here has taught me to be more creative with my course management,” she said. “This experience has completely changed my approach to golf, allowing me to play with more freedom and confidence.”

Preparing for a KLPGA Tour Victory
Competing in the KLPGA Tour wasn’t an easy decision for Boonchant. Just like when she left Thailand for the U.S., she was essentially starting over in a new environment.
“The courses in Korea have more elevation changes compared to the ones in the U.S. or Thailand, so I’ve had to practice more on shots from various lies. I’m also adjusting my club fittings to better suit the Korean courses,” she explained. “Outside of golf, there have been plenty of challenges – finding a place to live, hiring a coach and fitness trainer, and figuring out where to eat.”
While her impressive performance in the IQT earned her a spot on the 2025 Dream Tour, Boonchant set her sights on the KLPGA's regular tour and participated in the KLPGA 2025 Regular Tour Qualifying Tournament, finishing tied for 16th and securing a spot for the 2025 season.
“My goal for my rookie season is to win. To do that, I need to improve my short game and fine-tune my swing,” she said. “I’m working hard to become a stronger player and deliver exciting performances.”
As Jaravee Boonchant embarks on her new journey in the KLPGA, fans are excited to see the fresh energy and talent she’ll bring to the 2025 season.
