Leica Launches The Q2
Leica Camera Asia Pacific recently invited media and guests to be the first to have a hands-on experience with the launch of the Leica Q2, the new generation of Leica Q – Leica’s first compact camera that enables users to capture their personal take on the world in perfect images.
The brilliance of the Leica Q2 is that it features a newly developed sensor and engine, as well as a dust and spray water proofed body and lens that is capable of shooting more than 350 images with a single battery charge.
While guests were treated to a delectable spread of North Indian delights and treats, Amanda Hao, Marketing & PR Manager of Leica Camera Asia Pacific welcomed everyone with an opening speech and introduction to the Leica Oskar Barnack Awards, an award that recognises photography expressing the relationship between man and the environment. It was named after Oskar Barnack, designer of the first Leica camera, on the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
After sharing details of the newly released Leica Q2, it was off to Haji Lane in a convoy of lovingly restored vintage Vespa sidecars courtesy of Singapore Sidecars, a social enterprise all about spreading happiness and lots of love. Guests were then invited to be free with their creativity as they were let loose at the Instagram worthy Haji Lane during the test drive of the Leica Q2.
Back at the Leica store at Raffles Hotel Arcade, Leica ambassadors Aik Beng Chia, Hosanna Swee, and Chooee Hwang were on hand to share their personal experiences with the cameras, and to unveil new artworks on display at the Leica Galerie, before Sunil Kaul, Managing Director of Leica Camera Asia Pacific ended off the unveiling of the new Q2 with his closing speech.
