Asian Tour Book 2024
to move second in The International Series Rankings. The tournament was also notable for Bubba Watson and Phacahra both acing the 11th on day three, meaning the donation of three houses to needy families in Indonesia after the Range Goats GC star decided to personally match the prize for a hole-in-one. The first of three back-to-back events for the final stretch on The International Series 2024 season was held at Hong Kong Golf Club, and the historic venue was a fitting setting as Patrick Reed stormed to a three-shot victory over defending champion Campbell to win the Link Hong Kong Open. The 2018 Masters winner posted a sensational 11-under-par 59 in his third round, the first player to ever post that score on the Fanling course and the second 59 of the season on the Asian Tour and The International Series after Catlin’s stunning effort in Macau. Remarkably, Reed had been paired with Catlin in Macau when he fired his 59. That round helped Reed to 22 under and a first victory in nearly four years, with Campbell next best three back, one ahead of Japan’s Kazuki Higa. Doha Golf Club set the scene for the International Series Qatar, the ninth and penultimate event on the series, and in-formUihlein secured his second win of 2024 to take the rankings lead heading into the final event in Saudi Arabia. The American was the leader fromday two and simply proved too strong winning by amargin of five shots on 16-under-par ahead of 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, with Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines and Oosthuizen a shot further back in third. The final tournament of the campaign at Riyadh Golf Club offered 1,000 rankings points for the champion and a final chance for players to make a move in the season-long race. Although Uihlein held the lead going into the tournament, the race was still wide open with so many points at stake, and a chasing pack including Campbell, Catlin and co. In a tournament of high drama, Niemann took the tournament win and rankings title by the narrowest of margins after a gripping play-off win on the second hole against fellow LIV Golf League players, Cameron Smith and Surratt, with the three tied at 21 under. That gave the Chilean a total of 1,126 points, just 13.3 ahead of Uihlein, with Campbell agonisingly falling one shot short of the play-off. That effort earned him third place in the rankings, showing just how tight things were at the top andmaking it an unforgettable season. And while both Campbell and Lee narrowly missed out on getting onto the LIV Golf League via the rankings, they soon earned their places on the multi-million dollar circuit. Campbell was asked to play on the RangeGoats GC team while Lee won the LIV Golf Promotions event at the end of the year – all part of the multiple pathways to the pinnacle of the game.
