Aesthetic And Tech Advances Elevate New Luxury Golf Line

Honma Golf debuts two new collections under its coveted Beres series of luxury golf clubs. The visually stunning and expertly crafted game-enhancing clubs promote straighter, longer ball flight and increased ball speed, and continue the proud heritage of past luxurious Honma lines, with two bold twists on clubhead aesthetics.

“This new line represents the latest breakthrough technology for golfers with moderate to modest swing speeds. Beres Aizu and Black allow golfers to make pure, stable swings with enhanced speed and powerful ball flight.”
– Janeann Lanning, COO, Honma North America

Beres Aizu is the next chapter in a storied history of the very finest holistic craftsmanship, designed in collaboration with Japanese Aizu artisans. Representing Honma’s heritage and tradition, the 16th-century Japanese lacquer-painting technique introduces ornate aesthetics in red and gold accents alongside fine details like blossoming plum branches and hinoki leaves. It also encompasses Takumi expertise as well as the industry’s most technologically advanced construction.

Beres Black offers a more modern ebony chic and Honma’s timeless design. Drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons are beautifully shaped, efficiently transferring energy and generating consistent ball flight. Each clubhead is coated with a jet-black PVD process for a striking finish.

“Aizu appeals to players with an artistic flair and respect for Japanese craftsmanship,” says Honma’s Lanning, “while Black brings a modern, refined look for players who value performance and style without compromise, perhaps attracting younger golfers who might never have previously tried Beres.”

The Aizu and Black clubhead designs feature identical technology. The more premium Aizu line also adheres to Beres 2-to-5 Star grading that comes with Honma’s ARMRQ shaft upgrades, which utilise more advanced shaft technology and 24-karat gold and platinum as the grades progress.

Driver
The driver is lightweight with an optimal CG design for a high trajectory, low spin, forgiveness, and distance. Built in draw bias helps to correct fade tendencies associated with more modest swing speeds. Triple slots on the sole produce a more effective rebound off the face and a powerful initial ball speed, even on mishits. A radial variable thickness pattern on 6-4 titanium L-Cup face work in tandem to boost speed and expand forgiveness in the heel and toe regions, while an ultra-low density 811 titanium used in the thin-walled crown saves weight and optimises deflection at impact.

Fairway Woods & Hybrids
Woods and hybrids feature the new triple sole lot, thin crown, flexible face, and a low-CG weight distribution designed independently for each head. The SUS630 steel body uses a custom steel alloy in the L-shaped face. Expect ample speed, a high launch, and draw-biased forgiveness for ease of play.

Hybrid lofts – 19, 22, 25, 28 degrees

Irons
The irons feature a separate forged 8620 carbon steel body for feel, along with a separate ultra-thin face piece reinforced by a pattern of vertical bars on the rear. Lofts are strong and the irons utilise a dual-design – deeper cavities and an L-shaped cupface from 5- through 9-iron coupled with one external and two internal sole slots, plus a low-deep CG, deliver a higher launch and longer distance. The PW-SW use a full-face plate for a more penetrating trajectory.

Shafts
One of Honma’s hallmarks is its holistic approach to creating every part of the golf club in Sakata, Japan. Their hand-rolled and meticulously constructed performance-driven shafts utilise high strength lightweight materials reserved for applications in aerospace manufacturing. Like a sword used in fencing, Honma shafts flex yet recover faster back to its original shape for stability and swing speed.

2 Star ARMRQ MX shafts feature a T1100G bias ply that runs the full shaft length to maximize distance. Proprietary 10-Axis Sheet Metal Hybrid Armour Technology around the butt delivers stability and control.

3 Star ARMRQ MX shafts include high-strength M40X, a highly elastic Toray Composite that efficiently accelerates clubhead speed. 10-Axis Sheet Metal Hybrid Armour Technology and T1100G add clubhead speed and stability.

4 Star ARMRQ MX shafts include high-strength M40X, a highly elastic Toray Composite that efficiently accelerates clubhead speed. 10-Axis Sheet Metal Hybrid Armour Technology and T1100G add clubhead speed and stability. A lower kick point toward the tip increases swing speed and distance. 24K gold is also part of the design in the ferrule.

5 Star ARMRQ MX shafts have the lowest torque and most technology. A high-strength M40X highly elastic Toray Composite efficiently accelerates clubhead speed. 10-Axis Sheet Metal Hybrid Armour Technology and T1100G add clubhead speed and stability. T1100G in the bias layer minimises torque and maximises distance. 24K gold and platinum can also be found in the ferrule.

Only the Beres Aizu line comes in colours of gold and white to red, black and pink, and can be customised based on shaft and custom levels of gold.
