Cobra King Speedzone Driver
Race Car Inspired Drivers Gets Faster Six Different Ways
This season, Cobra Golf intends to dominate with not one, but two drivers: the King Speedzone and the King Speedzone Extreme; the company’s fastest and most powerful drivers to date. Taking inspiration from design attributes of the fastest cars in the world. every component from the internal chassis design to the exterior shaping was engineered to maximize power output.
With two new drivers, it’s clear Cobra Golf today introduced its new Speedzone Drivers – the company’s fastest and most powerful drivers to date. Taking inspiration from design attributes of the fastest cars in the world, Cobra optimised six unique zones of performance to deliver unrivaled speed and distance in two new drivers, the King Speedzone and the King Speedzone Xtreme. Like a racecar, every component from the internal chassis design to the exterior shaping was engineered to maximize power output. Below is a rundown of the six zones of performance Cobra delivers in its 2020 Speedzone Driver line.
POWER ZONE
The face is the engine of the driver and is crucial for generating speed. That’s why Cobra has the only CNC milled face on a driver, now expanded by 95% to better control face and leading-edge thickness.
STRENGTH ZONE
The new titanium T-Bar speed chassis removes titanium while maintaining a strong structure able to withstand high speed collisions. All the saved weight is the utilised to create low CG and high MOI for fast, forgiving performance.
LIGHT ZONE
A 360 carbon wrap crown design makes up 50% of the driver body, providing ample stiffness and support to the chassis while saving 25 grams of discretionary weight. That weight is then moved low and back and around the perimeter where it is needed most.
LOW CG ZONE
Low CG is essential for driver performance, delivering maximum ball speed, higher launch & low spin. And Cobra continues to deliver a low CG for optimal performance. 29 grams more mass (69g vs. 40g) has been moved lower in the driver for optimal launch conditions.
AERO ZONE
Combining aerodynamics with a low center of gravity continues to be Cobra’s strength. The new shaping harnesses airflow for maximum drag reduction and increased clubhead speed.
STABILITY ZONE
High speed stability is important in racing and driver performance. Speedzone’s High MOI Design positions weight away from the center of the head to maximize stability on off-center hits for longer, straighter drives.
Now there’s two distinct driver models with Speedzone. The King Speedzone Driver offers a traditional shape profile with front to back CG adjustability allowing better players to work the ball with ease and fine tune launch and low spin without sacrificing forgiveness. The King Speedzone Extreme Driver delivers a consistent, straight trajectory with maximum forgiveness on off-center hits. It’s a slightly larger profile with more perimeter weighting and a 17-gram tungsten weight that sits behind the rear exhaust pipe design to achieve the company’s highest measured MOI to date.
Lofts: 9o and 10.5o with MyFly8 adjustability from 7.5-12o
Both models are available in a Tour Length offering of 44.5in.
Shafts: high-launch/mid-spin UST Helium; mid-launch/mid-spin Tensei CK AV Blue 65; a mid-launch/low spin Project X HZRDUS Smoke Yellow 60; or the low launch/low spin Aldila Rogue Silver 60. In addition, 20+ no-charge premium shaft upgrades are available through custom. The Asian Spec shaft is FUJIKURA Speeder Evolution V.
