24 Oct 2019

With an active base of golfers among many of their valued clients, it was no wonder that the Citi ULTIMA Golf Tournament was fully subscribed. To say that this this golfing event is popular on the Citi social calendar is an understatement.

Held a day before the weekend in July at Tanah Merah Country Club’s interestingly varied and challenging Tampines course, arriving participants were greeted by the sight of the hole-in-one car, a Lexus ES250 sponsored by Borneo Motors. The prize of which awaited the golfer lucky enough to score an ace on the 176 metre long 4th hole with a green set at a 45 degree tangent to the tee box. A par on this hole will always be a good score, but a hole-in-one is ultimately more rewarding.

In anticipation of the HIO, the afternoon of golf then got off to a rousing shotgun start with great weather that saw the golfers enthusiastically take on the Tampines golf course.Come evening, Lai Yi-Ning, Head of Affluent Cards, Citibank Singapore welcomed and thanked all guests for their presence before the evening of wining and dining got underway. And even though the much coveted Hole-In-One prize of the Lexus ES250 remained unclaimed this year, guests warmed up to the evening’s prize presentation with the flight draw where 4 lucky flights of golfers got to win a box of the latest Titleist AVX golf balls sponsored by event managers Apexlynx.

For the tournament proper, Ms Lai, Head of Affluent Cards, congratulated and presented the prizes to second runner-up Chua Tze Hon, first runner-up Trevor Rosmarin, and this year’s Citi ULTIMA Tournament champion Ken Smith.
