Central Coast Charm

21 Dec 2015

Golf Asia explores this picturesque part of Vietnam which boasts a superb selection of golf courses built against the backdrop of China Beach at Danang as well as couple in the dry and temperate climate of high-altitude Dalat. Throw in fabulous food and produce and a range of lifestyle activities and one can see why this is fast becoming a popular tourist destination.

We checked out a few golf course in the Central Coast, of course. But first, here are some places of interest and things to do when you are in Dalat or Danang.

WHAT TO DO – DALAT

With its blend of colonial French and Vietnamese architecture, lush pine forests, rolling green hills and agriculture, Dalat is also known as Le Petit Paris, The City of Eternal Spring and The City of Thousands of Pine Trees.

A visit to the Dalat Market is well worth the time – day and night hundreds of vendors are selling various items such as local produce, souvenirs, clothes, shoes and wine.

Nearby the market is the L’ang Farm shop and cafe – a manufacturing and retail food brand – which sells specialty products such as artichoke tea, artichoke extract, herbal tea bags and loose leaf tea, herbal products, coffee, fruit, jams, specialty snacks and local wine.

Sights include the Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Truc Lam religious site, Elephant Falls, the Crazy House, Dalat Flower Park, Dalat Railway Station, Emperor Bao Dai’s summer palace and the French Quarter.

WHAT TO DO – DANANG

Take a short drive to Hoi An, a UNESCO world heritage town, which is beautiful as its architecture is a mix of eras and styles from wooden Chinese shop houses and temples to colourful French colonial buildings. Make sure you also visit the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, Museum of Cham Sculpture, Cao Dai Temple or take a trip to view the majestic Marble Mountains, Lady Buddha, Danang Cathedral as well as the Non Nuoc and My Khe Beaches.

Getting to Danang is easy with a number of direct flights or ones involving one stop from many countries in the region. To get to Dalat, you’ll need to fly either via a 30-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh or a 90-minute flight from Hanoi. From Dalat’s Lien Khuong airport it takes around a 30 minute drive to the city centre. For more information visit http://www.golfasian.com/golf-holidays/vietnam/
