An Italian Expression of Luxury

M/Y Freedom is the third model in the Fuoriserie range of CCN’s line of fully-custom projects, and she is the outcome of a brilliant concept that fashion designer Roberto Cavalli developed and turned into reality in cooperation with architect Tommaso Spadolini.

Both the exterior profile and the interior layout reflect the strong personality of the owner, who asked for a yacht that enhanced maximum contact with the sea while also ensuring the utmost privacy.

The final result is a 28m all aluminum yacht with aggressive lines that sits low on the water, has plenty of volume, a high speed and a nice flybridge.

The planing hull of M/Y Freedom, designed to ensure stability, seaworthiness and efficiency in all weather conditions, was developed to comply with the generous beam required by the GA, but limited to a length of 28m, which has been exploited fully to maximize the bearing area and achieve a staggering top speed of 42 knots thanks to a trio of Rolls-Royce water-jet and three MAN diesel engines.

For the interior layout, the challenge was how to maximise contact with the open ocean with uncompromised privacy. A mandatory key feature was for a very comfortable space, with little steps or staircase between levels. To meet this requirement, the whole main deck area, from the full-beam owner’s cabin, to the main lounge cockpit and the wheelhouse, were developed to be on the same level, with only 4 gentle slope steps between each area. This innovative concept offers an unusual living space, where the beach area and the main lounge work together as a continuous space close to the water. With the side doors and curtain closed, the main lounge has all the comfort of an inside space.

On the main deck, the master cabin, designed to confer visual continuity with the outside main lounge, allows for a constant sea-view, letting in natural light and air via 4 large windows and a central skylight.

The Interior decor has been personally created by Roberto Cavalli, who himself selected the fabric and leather finishes, along with the furniture and accessories. The interior also reflects the owner’s passion for photography, with bulkheads decorated by by photos he himself took during his travels. From the master’s cabin it is possible to directly access the flydeck or the wheelhouse, giving the owner the option of piloting the yacht whenever it strikes his fancy.

From the main lounge, a comfortable stairway access leads directly to a full beam home-like galley with spacious topwork, a large fridge and freezer, and tv and audio systems. Accommodation for 2+2 guests is provided on the lower deck. Here, like in the master cabin, the furniture has been customized with details and material coming from the Roberto Cavalli Home collection. A colorful mix of animalier prints and patterns meet the naturalistic inspired metalworks of the handles and decorative elements, creating a unique environment and conferring a glam-chic appeal to the interior of M/Y Freedom.
