Upon arrival, check in to the comforts of Montien Hotel Surawong Bangkok, located along the lively streets of Surawong and Silom, an enthralling district right in the heart of the city. Since opening its doors, the hotel quickly became a landmark destination adored by royalty, film stars and travellers from around the world. Today, Montien is a modern day lap of luxury featuring timeless Thai designs, staying true to their slogan – ‘Revival of the Original’.

Must visit landmarks such as Chinatown and Bangkok’s largest golf retail centre Thaniya Plaza, are just minutes away from the hotel, with a charming abundance of bustling market stalls, massage joints, fine-dining spots and playful night entertainment venues along the way.

Alpine Golf Club

A favourite amongst locals and travelling golfers, the challenging 6,500-metre championship course was created by one of America’s leading golf course architects, Ronald Garl. Garl’s vision was to build a track unlike anything the city has seen – picturesque undulating hills, a common sight for golf courses in Hua Hin or Phuket, not Bangkok.

Flipping a flat rice paddy field into Thailand’s only man-made championship track with waving hills, the course at Alpine Golf Club is undoubtedly one of its kind. High standards of maintenance along with its stunning hole routing, large stately greenery, beautiful lakes and beach-styled bunkers lends it charm to spruce up the rolling parkland.

The course’s significant elevation changes and world class design promises an unforgettable experience. Expect a momentous round playing though the daunting Island Green par-4 on the 11th, signature par-3 on 12th and a Double or Nothing par-5 on the 7th, all the while surrounded by a beautifully landscaped masterpiece that unwittingly takes one away from the game.

Amata Spring Country Club

[smartslider3 slider=15]

Established in 2005 with a vision of creating an extraordinary championship members-only golf facility for the Kingdom of Thailand, Amata Spring’s rise to prominence has been complemented by being a host venue for numerous notable professional events such as the inaugural Honda LPGA Thailand and Thailand Golf Championship.

This unique oasis right outside of Bangkok has become one of the most revered clubs in Asia. Superb course condition and impeccably manicured tee to green surfaces are just some of terms one might use to describe the majesty that is Amata Spring. The property’s infrastructure was strategically designed by renowned golf course architect Lee Schmidt from Schmidt-Curley Design, to test the games of the world’s best around its distinct playing features, with power play required on the longer front 9 and accuracy for a hazard-filled back 9.

Particularly known for their par-3 17th, the signature ‘floating green’ hole is the only one of its kind in Asia to feature an island green that floats atop a magnificent lake, accessible only via a short boat trip from beneath the Amata Castle.

Siam Country Club Bangkok

A latest addition to Siam Country Club, the Siam Country Club Bangkok is a brand new 7,250-yard masterpiece of an 18-hole championship golf course. Inaugurated earlier this year, it was named one of the 11 most anticipated golf courses opening in 2022 and has further elevated the Siam Country Club brand since.

The newly completed design by Toby Cobb of Coore and Crenshaw Design sits on what used to be rice paddies, which meant construction of the course was no easy feat. The final product? A hybrid links course featuring gentle fairways with soft rolling slopes and potted grass face bunkers carefully scattered throughout the course. In the limelight of course, a 3-metre deep potted bunker, aka “Big Ass”, just left of the 1,000sqm green on the par-3 18th hole.

Undeniably familiar, the 4,400sqm contemporary grand clubhouse is a nod to the original Siam Country Club Pattaya, home of LPGA Thailand and host venue for prominent events such as the inaugural Asian Mix Cup.
